Plant Manager

Blackeye Beverage, located in St. Paul, MN, is a co-pack manufacturer of ready-to-drink specialty coffees, carbonated drinks, teas and waters to a variety of national and international markets. A privately-owned and entrepreneurial environment, Blackeye Beverage is seeking a long-term employee who brings an owner’s mindset and enjoys driving results while being hands-on and intimately involved in all aspects of the business. Position Overview:

The Plant Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and management to plant operations. Through hands-on leadership, you will provide management oversight for the day-to-day operations including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Scheduling, Shipping & Receiving. The Plant Manager is responsible for controlling costs and driving performance. Ensuring efficiency, safety, quality throughout the plant is the top priority. The Plant Manager will work to build strong culture that develops employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plant Managers responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

-Accountable for end-to-end plant operations
-Manage performance, development and communication of all plant employees
-Developing and implement the plant’s annual budget
-Establish and maintain production and quality standards
-Coordinate production activities along with procurement, maintenance, production planning, safety and quality control activities
-Promote collaboration and effective communication with all appropriate parties
-Maintain machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products
-Actively manage production scheduling

Qualifications:

In addition to the qualifications and experience listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS Degree in Business, Management, Engineering or related discipline required.
5 plus years of experience in plant or line manufacturing leadership
Food and Beverage manufacturing experience important.

-Establish team communication and collaboration to drive plant performance

-Familiarity with manufacturing and ERP software a strong plus

Production Assistant

Blackeye Beverage, LLC is a non-alcoholic beverage production facility located in the South St. Anthony Park neighborhood of Saint Paul, a short walk from the Raymond Avenue light rail stop. We produce a variety of beverages ranging from cold brew coffee lattes to energy drinks and iced teas.

We are interested in expanding our team with a Production Assistant who wants a long-term role that they can grow with.

Position Overview:

The role of Production Assistant encompasses a variety of tasks and responsibilities related to the brewing, processing, and packaging of beverages. It is a dynamic role that will continue to grow and develop as the company grows and as we learn your strengths and goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Beverage production including but not limited to: brewing, filtering, mixing
-Ingredient weighing, sorting and blending
-Maintaining proper sanitation of equipment and tools
-Quality inspections of product
-Incoming inspection and unloading of materials received
-Outgoing inspection and loading of materials shipped out
-Operating the canning and sleeving lines
-Operating a pallet jack and forklift upon certification
-Adhering to SQF & FDA standards
-Responsible for filling out verification logs, production documents and SQF forms

This position is full time with slight variation in hours as production schedules change. A typical day is 8 hours with a start time of 7am and an end time of 4pm. PTO, holidays, and sick pay are included in benefits.

Requirements:

In order to carry out the functions of this position, you must be able to lift 60 lbs, be on your feet for an 8 hour shift, be able to squat, bend over, and pivot, and be able to read and write English. Beverage and food experience will be considered but no experience is required for this position. Beyond the requirements listed above, this job is open to all.

Maintenance Technician

Blackeye Beverage, LLC is a non-alcoholic beverage production facility located in the South St. Anthony Park neighborhood of Saint Paul, a short walk from the Raymond Avenue light rail stop. We produce a variety of beverages ranging from cold brew coffee lattes to energy drinks and iced teas.

We are interested in expanding our team with a Maintenance Technician who wants a long-term role that they can grow with.

Position Overview:

The role of Maintenance Technician encompasses a variety of tasks and responsibilities related to the brewing, processing, and packaging of beverages and the associated equipment. It is a dynamic role that will continue to grow and develop as the company grows and as we learn your strengths and goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain and operate equipment and supporting infrastructure
-Develop and implement PM plan for site
-Develop system to track equipment history
-Schedule maintenance per the plan
-Develop and manage budget
-Document maintenance activity, investigate and resolve failures
-Train team members to perform diagnostic and basic maintenance tasks
-Develop and lead safety plan
-Participate in CAPEX planning and execution

Requirements:

-Associate Degree or equivalent experience of 5 years or more in a light industrial work setting
-Basic instrumentation / controls experience
-Basic computer skills
-Strong interpersonal and team skills
-Strong written and verbal skills. Good communicator
-Experience in working with parts and equipment vendors
-Safety training / OSHA 10 Certificate preferred
In order to carry out the functions of this position, you must be able to lift 60lbs, be on your feet for an 8 hour shift, be able to squat, bend over, and pivot, and be able to read and write English. Beverage and food experience will be considered but no experience is required for this position.

Compensation / Benefits:

We are offering a starting wage of $25/hr. After a 60 day provisional period of employment, you will be able to opt-in to health, dental, and/or vision insurance.
